Emotion is the tool, that one utilizes to push through and implement a progressive agenda. Individuals that are otherwise, extremely intelligent, become putty in the hands of politicians with bad intentions. Some people throw all common sense out the window, when emotion kicks in. We have seen this quite a bit lateley, with the attacks on the second amendment, and healthcare. This progressive tactic, has been very effective the last 100 years, as the federal government has slowly transformed the country into a parasite infested free for all. Toxic legislation, such as Obamacare,is sold to the public, and everyone is told, "healthcare for everyone". After all, who can argue against giving everyone healthcare?
Sounds great on the surface. What a great humanitarian cause to push for in America. So, under this new legislation, everyone will be healthier, and happier, right? Not exactly. For those that work past the euphoric ring that this may have, a breakdown of the facts, and the actual contents of the 2700 pages of the so called Affordable Care Act. Forcing insurance companies to provide coverage to millions more, but forcing these companies to send reimbursement checks to customers that do not have medical expenses, that equal a set percentage of what they pay for a premium. Doesn't that pretty much destroy the whole idea behind insurance? But, how many people knew that these type of things existed in the ACA? Probably not many.
Remember Nancy Pelosi's timeless statement, "We have to pass the bill, so you can find out what
is in it"? I think that a public statement of that nature, is very telling. While conservatives were yelling from the
rooftops, telling everyone that the ACA is bad news, the rest of the country was preoccupied with snookie, the Kardashians, dancing with the stars, and american idol, and the notion that this President was, " such a great speaker". Emotion is a trojan horse, used effectively as a tool when attempting taking away our rights. What have they done with the second amendment? They take a single event like sandy hook, and use children as pawns in order to bring people on board in support of gun control. The use of such a tragic event, to push through a political agenda is disgusting! It shows, that the intentions behind these legislative power grabs, are not compassionate, and they are nefarious at best, criminal at worst. But, the progressives come out smelling like a rose, becasue they just tell everyone that they are just trying to "save the children". Uninformed voters will take them at their word and continue to believe that they are for the little guy. They continue to jusitfy their actions and policies, by stating their "good" intentions. This from so called intelligent, college educated, DC oligarchs. I can't figure out how someone with a college degree can make political calculations, on important issues, using only emotion and not accessing a single brain cell. But, given the current culture in America's universities, i guess it shouldn't be a suprise.

Martial law, the term sends a chill up the spine of Americans, whether or not they think that it is a likely scenario, or a conspiracy theory. Hollywood has picked up on the trend, and as a result, movies set in an post-apocalyptic world where nothing makes sense, and everything is turned upside down. The idea of a military and government takeover, complete with suspension of our Constitution, may be hard to grasp for most people. For well over 2 centuries, we have lived in this constitutional republic, and have enjoyed the benefits that come with, the individual taking responsibility for governing himself, through election of representitives, and the presence of limited government. Most people believe, that the military would turn against a tyrant that ordered the revocation of god given rights.
But a closer look at human behavior, in times of crisis, may suggest otherwise. If a martial law scenario were to emerge, at least in modern times, it would be the result of a crisis, one that is staged or caused by the tyrannical government, directly or indirectly. Or, it may be something that happens, that sparks a response from the liberal lap dog media, that eventually blows it completely out of proportion and a snowball effect causes the whole thing to explode. How do human beings repsond when dealing with tragic, horrifying events? Let's look at November 22, 1963, Jackie Kennedy's response to her husband being shot in the head, as seen in the Zapruder film, was to crawl onto the back of the limo and grab pieces of her husbands'skull, only to prop back him up in his seat, so that she could attempt to put his head back together. This sounds illogical, but when Jackie Kennedy, gave testimony to the Warren Commission, on what she remembered, she stated that she did not remember crawling onto the back of the limo as she did, and essentially "blacked out". Which would explain the irrational behavior. So the scenario, in which the complete breakdown of society, creates chaos, and mass social unrest, seems to fall into this category of surreal horror, and the human response to this is unpredictable. Just as a hypothetical, most military members, in this type of a scenario, may react as they are in a warzone, because in the stated hypothetical situation, this country may look like the middle east. It might not be hard to convince most servicemen that drastic measures need to be taken in such an extreme situation. Sure they may say, "no way, no how", at this point in time. But with no plan, and no preparation for such events, will they follow orders, due to the fact they they will have nothing else to go on? I'm not advocating this, I am one that believes, that when you take the oath, to defend the Constitution, that you hold to that oath until you take your last breath. I am just trying to play devil's advocate and bring attention to the fact that human behavior is not always predictable, and sometimes we inadvertently resort to a contingency plan, due to the nature of the task before us. A martial law scenario would be the end of America as we know it, and I hope that it never gets to that point. We need to remain educated and forever vigilant, to prevent this type of event from taking place, and being successful. The President will not allow a good crisis to go to waste. He is preparing for the day America falls apart and he will seize the opportunity. The citizens of this country need to have similar preparations. This sounds harsh on the surface, but look at the similarities. Drug addiction is nothing to joke about, and that is not my intent here. Nor is this an attempt to slam drug users or welfare recipients. Addiction to government assistance can be inherited or acquired. It can be taught at an early age, passed down from previous generations. Teaching children the knowledge and skills they will need to use the system to receive an income, without lifting a finger. By those that pursue this lifestyle, they see nothing wrong with this type of behavior. It is normal to them, and it is how they survive. However, the idea of discouraging your able bodied offspring, to choose this type of lifestyle, makes many people sick. It sounds great on paper, right? Something for nothing, or so it seems. Those collecting, forget that they are bearing the fruit of someone else's labor. This country does not suffer from a lack of opportunity, it suffers from a lack of initiative. This lack of initiative, is a bi product of our welfare driven society. The goal, when providing welfare to citizens, should be to allowing people to work their way out of poverty, and abandoning benefits when they are in a position to provide for themselves. We shouldn't boast of how many new welfare recipients we sign up. Eventually, we are going to have more takers than makers, and we all know that situation leads to insolvency. We do not have an infinite amount of money. We do, on the other hand have a Federal Reserve that sees no problem with 17.5 trillion dollars in debt, and 130 trillion + in unfounded liability. Welfare is not based on the idea of compassion. It is not there to help the little guy. It is a manner in which politicians buy votes, nothing more. Anyone that thinks, that their representatives is DC care about whether or not you can put food on your table, had better wake up. They sip bubbly, go to parties and only work a small fraction of the year, while making six figure incomes. Their constituents are the furthest thing from their mind. Most of them would slit the throat of a colleague to assure reelection. But we continue to elect them because the moral backbone of America is all but gone. Your elected officials are only as good as your electorate. Welfare creates a dependence on government assistance because it has no end. People just continue to vote for the person that will allow the flow of "free stuff" to keep on coming. Like a drug addiction, these benefits give a feeling of euphoria, and make one aloof to the country's dire financial situation. Detached from reality they continue to see the check in the mailbox and all is well. While those of us living in the real world, a world subject to the ups and downs of the market, suffer with every economic fluctuation. These so called entitlements, create a haze of artificial happiness. It puts those receiving benefits in their own version of the Lego movie, singing "everything is awesome". Sad but true. Washington DC has created a voter base of victims, and trys to act as the knight on the white horse, when the perceived "victim" is struggling. Welfare benefits need to be a tool used to bridge the gap, not become a full time job. Incentive is needed to keep a society from getting lazy and imploding as a result of being overrun by leeches. Yes, leeches, if someone is able bodied and chooses to live of of someone else's achievements, that makes them a blood sucking leech. I don't think that type of entitlement mentality, is acceptable, and it is showing disrespect to your fellow man. What is freedom? Is there an absolute definition in modern society, or does the term fall prey to ones perception? The definition when used as a noun:
Sounds pretty straight forward right? But there is a problem. What does one consider opression? What about slavery? This is the age we live in, everyday words with specific meaning and purpose, that are interpreted hundreds of different ways, based on ones experiences. Freedom in America, is not the same as freedom in France. In France, their perception of freedom is different from that of the United Kingdom. People know only what they are used to, and familiar with. The same way that a child growing up, becomes a product of his/her surroundings. For the sake of this article let's focus on American Freedom. The American experiment was unique in that it would allow the individual to govern him/herself, and provide an opportunity to choose a direction in life, as opposed to being placed in a class, or forced to work in a profession that is not of your choosing, with no chance of upward mobility. That is why I can't stand the term "middle class". Capitalism is the ultimate form of freedom, and it has created the highest standard of living known to man. Capitalism does not "create" wealth directly, it provides the opportunity for wealth through incentive, and ability to bear the fruit that is a result of your labor. Alright, at this point the libs are going to say that I hate poor people. Nothing could be further from the truth. I just want them to work for the compensation that they get in the form of currency. After all, isn't that the cry of the collectivist? Fair share, right? But fair share should not amount only to financial contributions, but labor, skilled or otherwise. Why is it ok to ask for half of the population to pay their "fair share" while the other half, pays 0. If you call BS on this, then you need to do some research. IRS.gov, and treasury.gov are good places to start. Get it right from the horses mouth. The ultimate form of freedom, is the ability to seize opportunity, in order to take advantage of God given talent, and utilize that talent in the most productive manner possible. That is freedom! And it has nothing to do with the poor, or the rich, but it has everything to do with the ability to choose one or the other. I don't know why the media continues to drop the ball on immigration. Illegal entry into this country is a threat to national security, and it has very little to do with Mexicans, or those leaving their homes in Central America to seek residency here in the US. The real threat here, involves the usual suspects, Al Qaeda, ISIS or any affiliated Islamic extremist group, in pursuit of jihad and destruction of anything non Muslim. I have to imagine, that it is not hard for terrorists to enter Mexico via one of their airports. Mexico doesn't have a no fly terrorist watch list that I know of. Nor do they have, what I would call adequate security, airport or otherwise. Our border is a long red carpet for any terrorist organization that wants access to our country to carry out an attack. The real issue that the talking heads on cable news should be debating, is the danger that a porous border poses, to a country that is a prime target for terrorist attacks. Just yesterday, a truck in Mexico that was transporting radioactive material(iridium-192) was stolen, and is still missing. This causes one to pause, and consider for a moment that moving nuclear material across our southern border would be not be much of a challenge. Moving people into the country to carry out attacks would also be accomplished with ease(Rio Grande). Tell me why we have a terrorist no fly list for airports when we have an open southern border? Those looking to inflict harm on America will take the path of least resistance, especially if that path almost assures that there will be no questions asked, and no interference by Federal authorities. My demand for the so called media, is to start pounding this into peoples' heads! It is not about Mexico, or Central America, or even the children that the Obama administration likes to use as political pawns. This is about our security here, at home, in a post 9/11 America. One last thought, why are we subject to humiliating searches, groping, and heckling by the TSA in order to get on a plane, but someone that speaks no English, can walk across our southern border at any time, any reason, at will. That is the question that needs to be thrown at Obama and his cronies. Transparency, remember? A leftistl cannot say the word capitalism, without also mentioning "greed" in the same breath. It is buried deep in their brain, capitalism is seen by some as corporations stealing from people. Taking away a piece of Joe America's portion of the collective pie that he feels, should be cut equally and given to every American. There are so many problems with this type of thinking, I don't know where to start. First of all, let's get past the stealing accusation. Stealing would be the taking of something that does not belong to you without permission from the owner. The entrepreneur or corporation does something different. The entrepreneur offers goods and/or services, for a price generally paid in the applicable currency, or in some cases, something perceived as having equal value. It is laughable to see protesters holding signs trashing CEO's and the so called 1%, when these so called "greedy" multi billion dollar companies that produce the gadgets that these you activists are holding in their hands. A business's wealth or profit, comes only from the consumers who purchase a product. Without the consumer, the company ceases to exist, unless you call yourself GM. So, these activists that say they are against greed and profit, are feeding this perceived greed, with their own cash and patronage, and at the same time adding to the profits of such companies. If they are sincere, why don't they boycott such products? The answer, because these brands offer something that the the consumer wants. That's what makes the wheels of the economy turn. Now how many times did I mention government in all of this? 0 Government can only spend money that it takes from the taxpayer. Yes, there is corruption in the private sector, but that is why we have anti trust laws, RICO etc. But we can't turn to government run business and expect to get away from corruption. I would rather take my chances in a climate created and regulated by competition and incentive, as opposed to Government run business that pays ridiculous salaries to people that do minimal work, with pension included. The Federal Government is not bound to the same rules as the private sector, because the private sector has to adhere to a budget, and the Fed creates all the money they need, to cover their overspending and lack if fiscal responsibility. Capitalism is not the bad guy, it is responsible for the highest standard of living known to man. Achieved as a result of hard work, not by the taking or conquering of ones land or possessions. The existence of capitalism is what makes America successful as a Country, and as a hub of industry and commerce. The useful idiots that continue to demonize the so called 1%, would not be happy with an America void of Corporations. Be careful what you wish for! |
